The Rehab Act Of 1973?
What do you think of the American disabilities act? and why?
The Rehab Act and the ADA are entirely different laws. The Rehab act applies primarily to federal program. The ADA to everything else.
The problem with the ADA is that it is a civil rights law with no teeth. The only way you can get the ADA enforced is to sue. People get upset when people sue, but they don’t get upset when business don’t comply with an almost 17 year old law.
The ADA is also being misconstrued from its original intent. It is a civil rights law- giving people with disabilities equal access to the things people without disabilities have.
The ADA has guided the US to make tremendous advances in regards to disability access, but nearly enough.
