
Does this sound like a unrealistic career to you ?
k so for my career i want to be a business man i am not smart and i get 50% to 60% in my classes but this is what i want to do in the future k so after i graduate i want to open a liquor store and after a year i will get good money from it rite than i want to open up a insuarance company and expand my liquor store to the states after that i will open one or two more company but as a result i will be making alot of money rite ? after that i want to save up my money till im 30 and open up a huge insuarance company like Geico or e insurance and start my life from that and get other ppl to look after my 3 or 4 comapies and thats my career does this sound unreasonable to u if so where please explain also i no im not a business man so what am i if i do this perhapes a entrepeneur ? ps i apologise for any spelling errors also what course do u recomdened me doing after high school iof i want to achieve this goal i was thinking major in entrepeneurship ?
It sounds reasonable. People have done that successfully, start their own business from being flat broke and becoming millionaires. However, many don’t because they are too scared to take that dive and actually start the business.
Your biggest risk is what if the business fails. It’s good to have a plan B in place if that does happen. Starting your own business is an extremely risky move if you don’t have a plan B.
An example plan B is get a job working for someone else so you can have the $$ to pay off any debts your failed business caused. You might also need the job early on to get the $$ you need to start the business. If you go this route, look into getting your college grades above B level.
Make sure you read up on how to start businesses. Get some for dummies books on it or something so you have a plan forward.
If you feel you need motivation for starting your own business, read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. He might not offer the best financial advice but damn he is a good motivator.
