Just watched ’sicko’, Michael Moore’s latest documentary on the health care system in United States…
There were times where I shed tears, watching at the horror of what happened. Given that I’m a Malaysian, a developing, 3rd world country, it’s understandable that our health care system ranks somewhere below that of US’s, but I have NEVER recalled anybody from my country having to pay for their medical fees to the point where they are faced with bankruptcy.
I’m a medical student too, and my years of experience working in the Emergency department- never once have I ever turned a patient away because of them not having insurance coverage or that sort of thing.
I’m not a big fan of Moore’s, but I must admit it- this documentary of his opened my eyes.
I would like to know your take on this issue.
And will any actions be taken to ensure a change in the health care system in the US?
Michael Moore’s documentaries are loaded with an agenda, and he only shows you the parts he wants you to see. While we do have a problem, I assure you, people are NOT turned away at the emergency room. This is part of our crisis.
